Certified Registered Central Service Technician (CRCST) through the Healthcare Sterile Processing Association (HSPA) **OR** Certified Sterile Processing and Distribution Technician (CSPDT) through the Certification Board for Sterile Processing and Distribution (CBSPD).**PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS****:****EXPERIENCE:**1. Three (3) months of sterilization equipment and procedures experience**CORE DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:** The statements described here are intended to describe the general nature of work being performed by people assigned to this position.

Other duties may be assigned.1. Maintain accurate operation of sterilization equipment. Cleaning, sterilization and distribution of instruments and hard goods used in operating room and other user areas of the hospital.2. Maintain department in clean and sterile condition.3. Check inventory and discard expired items that cannot be re-sterilized.4. Properly sterilize and package all reusable items.5. Collects soiled instrumentation and equipment to be reprocessed.6. Take telephone orders from user department for supply replenishment and record, fill and distribute orders to proper department.7. Fills case cart requisitions for surgery department.8. Order specialty equipment from vendors.**PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS:** The physical demands described here are representative of those that must be met by an employee to successfully perform the essential functions of this job. Must be capable of lifting up to 60 pounds and pushing loaded carts weighing in excess of 200 pounds.3. Must demonstrate verbal and written proficiencies to utilize written high level disinfection/sterilization guidelines and manufacturers’ instructions for use (IFU’s).3.
