Job Summary And Qualifications As a Certified Lead Sterile Processing Technician, you will be an invaluable safety expert and trusted leader on our team. You will use your precision and skills to keep every surgical instrument and supply clean, reliable, and ready when it matters most. You will also share your knowledge and guide your colleagues, helping create a safe, efficient environment where your team can thrive and where patients’ lives are improved every day.

Responsibilities

Oversees the daily operations of the central processing area(s) related to decontamination, assembly, packaging, sterilization, storage and distribution of instruments and equipment.

Performs training and orientation for central processing staff.

Manages inventory and supplies housed in the central processing area(s).

Cleans equipment and restocks supplies in a timely manner to prepare for patient unit needs.

Directs and supervises staff assigned to the Central Processing area(s).

Develops and updates tools used in the assembly of instrument sets.

Performs quality monitoring and sterilization validation testing.

Qualifications

High school diploma or equivalent.

Prefer knowledge of medical terminology and concepts of inventory management.

Minimum of 2 years as a Sterile Processing/Central Processing Technician. Experience in managing supply and equipment inventories preferred.

Experience as a team leader preferred.

Basic computer knowledge preferred. In depth knowledge of the functions and operations of various types of decontamination and sterilization equipment required. Advanced knowledge of basic instrumentation and equipment required.

Ability to prioritize tasks to support department efficiencies required. Self‑motivated and directed. Ability to direct and supervise Sterile Processing work production. Ability to communicate positively and professionally. Ability to perform problem‑solving resulting in improved processes and performance for the department. Ability to work collaboratively with many levels of people.
