Job Summary:

We are seeking a skilled

Fire Alarm and Access Control Technician

to install, maintain, troubleshoot, and repair fire alarm and access control systems. The ideal candidate will have experience working with low-voltage electrical systems and a strong understanding of fire alarm codes, security systems, and access control technology.

Key Responsibilities:

Install, program, test, and maintain fire alarm systems, access control systems, and security systems according to manufacturer and industry standards.

Troubleshoot and repair system malfunctions, wiring issues, and component failures.

Conduct routine inspections and preventive maintenance on installed systems to ensure proper functionality.

Interpret blueprints, technical drawings, and wiring schematics to guide installations.

Ensure compliance with NFPA codes, local building regulations, and safety standards.

Perform system upgrades and modifications based on customer needs and technological advancements.

Collaborate with clients, contractors, and team members to ensure successful project completion.

Maintain accurate service records, documentation, and reports for all work performed.

Provide training and support to customers on system operation and troubleshooting.

Stay updated on industry trends, new products, and best practices in fire alarm and security technology.

Qualifications & Requirements:

High school diploma or equivalent; technical or vocational training preferred.

Minimum

5

years of experience in fire alarm and access control systems installation and maintenance.

Strong knowledge of fire alarm panels, security systems, electronic access control, CCTV, and low-voltage wiring.

Familiarity with NFPA codes, NEC, and local fire regulations.

Certifications such as

NICET (Fire Alarm Systems), ESA, OSHA 10/30, or manufacturer-specific certifications PLT

are a plus.

Ability to read and interpret schematics, blueprints, and technical manuals.

Proficiency in troubleshooting electrical and network-based security systems.

Strong communication and customer service skills.

Ability to lift and carry heavy equipment, climb ladders, and work in various environments.

Valid driver's license and clean driving record.
