Assistant Preconstruction Manager

Job Overview Reporting to the Chief Preconstruction Manager, the Assistant Preconstruction Manager will assist with gathering and compiling data for conceptual and negotiated bid projects, prepare estimates under guidance of a Senior or Preconstruction Manager, and maintain active trade partner retainment.

Key Responsibilities

Assists in promoting, soliciting, and developing engagement from operations during the pre‑construction phase.

Integrates with the design team and owner to provide professional services throughout the project.

Places a high priority on safety and collaborates with operations staff to develop project‑specific safety estimates.

Maintains an in‑house system of pre‑qualified subcontractors and vendors to assure quality control and limit risk.

Prepares cost proposals for value‑engineering options prior to evaluation by design team and owners.

Reads and is familiar with owner pre‑construction and construction agreements for assigned projects.

Tracks and manages pre‑construction project costs as they relate to revenue and scope of services.

Provides/supports complete estimates for projects during initial phases of design through final design documents.

Provides/interim update budgets based on partial design information to ensure costs are within target budget.

Supports the estimate process from quantity takeoff through project operations interface.

Evaluates subcontractor bids for completeness of scope.

Documents design evolution using meeting minutes and RFI processes.

Promotes internal peer review of estimates prior to client presentations.

Supports Preconstruction Team in maintaining, updating, communicating, and implementing project schedules.

Provides input on constructability of design documents, identifies discrepancies, lead time impacts, and high‑risk elements.

Solicits third‑party reviews and ensures comments are incorporated into contract documents.

Assists in ensuring all Pinkard team members collaborate toward safety, quality, and profit goals.

Assists with owner and architect relationships to ensure client satisfaction and trust.

Minimum Requirements

Knows and can perform the duties of a Project Engineer.

Minimum of four years’ experience in commercial construction within the United States.

At least three years of Preconstruction/Estimating experience in commercial construction within the United States.

OSHA 30‑hour certification renewed at least every three years.

Salary In accordance with the Colorado Equal Pay for Equal Work Act, the salary range for this position will be

$90,000 - $121,000 + Profit Sharing . Actual base pay within this range will be determined by several components including, but not limited to, relevant experience, internal equity, skills, qualifications, and other job‑related factors permitted by law.
