What You Need To Be Successful To excel as a CNC Machinist you will need high attention to detail and problem‑solving skills. Ideal candidates will have a high school or trade school diploma and a background as a machine operator with 3‑5 years of experience. Proficiency in reading and interpreting blueprints and shop drawings is a must, along with familiarity with measuring tools like dial calipers, tape measures, micrometers, and protractors. Candidates should also have a solid grasp of basic mathematical skills and be comfortable working with PCs.
Knowledge and Skills Required
High School or Trade School graduate preferred.
Machine operator background with 3‑5 years of experience.
Must be able to read and work from blueprints and shop drawings.
Must be familiar with measuring tools such as dial calipers, tape measures, micrometers, protractors, height gauge, and squares.
Must be proficient in basic mathematical skills.
Basic knowledge and understanding of PCs preferred.
