Key Responsibilities
Case Management: Assist attorneys in managing litigation cases, including organizing case files, tracking deadlines, and ensuring all case documentation is up-to-date and readily accessible.
Discovery: Conduct and manage all aspects of discovery processes, including document collection, review, and production. Prepare and respond to discovery requests, including interrogatories, requests for production, and requests for admission.
Legal Research: Perform legal research using standard tools to support motions, briefs, and other legal documents.
Document Preparation: Draft, review, and revise legal documents such as pleadings, motions, subpoenas, affidavits, brief, and settlement agreements under attorney supervision.
Court Support: Assist with trial preparation by organizing evidence, preparing exhibits, coordinating with witnesses, and attending court proceedings as needed.
Client Communication: Serve as a primary point of contact for clients regarding case status, document collection, and general inquiries, ensuring effective and timely communication.
Administrative Duties: Manage calendars, schedule meetings, hearings, depositions, and coordinate attorney schedules to ensure a smooth workflow.
Qualifications
Education: An associate's or bachelor's degree in paralegal studies, or completion of a paralegal certification program (or comparable experience).
Experience: At least 3 years of experience as a paralegal, with a focus on litigation, civil procedure, and trial support.
Skills:
Exceptional organizational skills with meticulous attention to detail.
Strong written and verbal communication abilities.
Proficiency in legal research tools (e.g., Westlaw, LexisNexis) and document management systems.
Ability to handle multiple priorities in a fast‑paced environment while maintaining accuracy.
Nice to Have:
Experience with electronic discovery processes and software.
Knowledge of local and state court procedures.
