Upper & Middle School Ancient Greek & Latin Teacher Who You Are The Classics Department at The Episcopal Academy seeks a dynamic and passionate Ancient Greek and Latin teacher to teach four sections of students in grades 7-12 for the 2026-2027 academic year. The ideal candidate is an innovative, student-centered educator who brings the ancient world to life and values curiosity, risk-taking, and collaboration. This position requires comfort teaching all levels of Greek and Latin to students in both the Middle School and Upper School, serving as an Upper School advisor, and participating fully in the life of the school community through advising and extracurricular involvement.

About You The ideal candidate for the Upper & Middle School Ancient Greek & Latin Teacher at The Episcopal Academy will possess the following:

A growth mindset and a deep commitment to creating inclusive and engaging learning environments

A student-centered approach to teaching, with lessons that meet a range of learning needs

Enthusiasm for collaboratively developing a curriculum grounded in the reading method, rather than a single textbook series

Passion for teaching practices that promote student agency, project-based learning, and authentic assessment

The ability to mentor and support students through small-group advising

Interest in educating the whole child through participation in extracurricular activities

Advanced degree in Classical Languages or a closely related field preferred

Classroom teaching experience preferred; equivalent experience or recent, relevant academic study will be considered
