Location Multiple southeast US Customer Center locations (Hattiesburg MS, Mobile AL, Norcross GA, Knoxville TN, Nashville TN, Moody AL, Greer SC). Relocation not eligible.
Schedule Monday – Friday 7:30AM – 4:30PM
Pay Range Starting $25.00 – $35.00 per hour. Sign On Bonus $3,000.

Job Overview The Field Service Technician for Ingersoll Rand's Compression Systems and Services Division serves customers by installing, troubleshooting, repairing, and maintaining all makes of rotary screw and reciprocating and/or Centac and ECC air compressors, along with additional compressed air system components. You will use precision measuring tools for diagnostic troubleshooting of compressed air equipment and will have knowledge of all operations and parts manuals associated with all equipment.
Responsibilities
Perform preventative maintenance on compressed air equipment and address existing and unanticipated equipment concerns.
Collaborate with Service Coordinator on ordering and gathering parts and supplies necessary for installations and repairs.
Assist and train apprentices and Field Service Technicians.
Effectively communicate verbally and in writing with customers and co‑workers.
Provide technical assistance on equipment pre‑commissioning and start‑ups, installations, and repairs of compressed air systems.
Increase customer awareness of Ingersoll Rand products, services, and solutions such as Preventative Maintenance, Diagnostics, Audits, and Leak Detection.
Requirements
2+ years of experience troubleshooting industrial/commercial mechanical systems.
Valid driver’s license for a minimum of 12 months with no major infractions (DUI in the past 5 years, Hit & Run, license suspension, reckless driving, or multiple collisions in the past 3 years).
Able to be on‑call; first 90 days non‑on‑call, thereafter on‑call weeks may occur every 4 weeks or more.
High physical demand: regular use of hands, fingers, walking, stooping, kneeling, and lifting or moving weight limits per safety policy.
High School Diploma or equivalent.
Core Competencies
Read wiring schematics and diagrams for all equipment.
Advanced network system installations (IMMC/ASC, X Series Automation).
Basic vibration troubleshooting.
Basic air quality (system compressor/dryer – air treatment).
Knowledge of Microsoft Office and handheld computer use (Smartphone, iPad).
Maintain proper business travel practices cost‑efficiently.
Preferences
Industrial air compressor maintenance & knowledge.
EPA Certification.
Veteran/Active‑Duty Military encouraged to apply.
Travel & Work Arrangements
Service Technicians will travel daily within a 3‑hour radius of their service area.
A company vehicle and fuel card will be provided.
