Westaff Hiring for Machine Operators & Packers for Manufacturer in Wallingford, CT!
Training available for the right candidate with technical schooling, machine operating, or metal cutting background!
Shifts:
2nd shift (3:30pm – 11pm), and 3rd shift (11pm – 7am)
Pay Rate:
$18 +, depending on experience and opportunity for advancement
Machine Operator/Packer Responsibilities:
Accurately cut large slabs of metal (1,000–10,000 lbs) using precision measurements and metal-cutting machinery
Process, package, and prepare cut materials for shipment
Operate forklifts, side loaders, and overhead cranes as needed
Load and unload trucks safely and efficiently
Machine Operator/Packer Required Skills:
Ability to lift up to 50 lbs
Experience in machine operations and/or metal cutting
Comfortable using computers and basic software
Strong understanding of basic math: fractions, decimals, measurements
Team-oriented with strong communication skills
