Biomedical Engineering Technician I
Join Intelas as a Biomedical Engineering Technician I in Corpus Cristi TX. This role focuses on maintaining and troubleshooting biomedical equipment in a hospital setting.
Base Pay Range $22.00/hr – $24.50/hr
Key Responsibilities
Perform planned maintenance and electrical safety inspections on patient care and support equipment.
Manage assigned equipment and schedule service.
Conduct pre-acceptance inspections and develop preventive maintenance procedures.
Ensure test equipment is calibrated within established intervals.
Respond promptly to clinical department calls to evaluate and resolve operator complaints.
Research and order repair parts within budget parameters.
Maintain purchase order log and validate invoices (field service personnel only).
Provide informal training to equipment users and Crothall Services Group staff.
Recommend service strategies to the Department Manager and keep supervisor informed.
Participate in Quality Improvement / Risk Management program and suggest improvements.
Maintain an orderly, functional work environment.
Provide emergency on‑call responsibilities as needed.
Document all significant asset‑related actions in compliance with department practices.
Collaborate with technical personnel in meetings to share updates and device‑related issues.
Preferred Qualifications
Associate’s degree in electronics/biomedical equipment technology, military training, or equivalent experience.
1–3 years of experience servicing clinical/patient‑care equipment in a hospital.
Valid driver’s license for field service positions requiring travel.
Ability to work independently with some supervision.
Strong communication and customer‑service skills.
Good organization and time‑management skills.
Working knowledge of computer applications for tracking service histories and producing asset reports.
Strong troubleshooting skills.
Willingness to serve “on‑call” duty as required.
Strong work ethic and teamwork ability.
