Computer Numerical Control (CNC) Machinist
Location: Gonzales, Louisiana
Shift: Second Shift – Monday to Friday, 3:30 PM to 12:00 AM (base pay + $1.00 shift differential)
Salary: $28.22–$42.26 per hour
Responsibilities
Be responsible for personal safety and for the safety of others. Must maintain excellent housekeeping standards.
Set‑up, indicate, and machine raw material (bar stock, forgings, and castings) to manufacture Fisher OEM parts to OEM print dimensions.
Cross‑train on all machines to prevent lapses in production flow, including engine lathes, manual drills, horizontal bandsaws, CNC lathes, VTLs, HBMs, and CNC mills.
Understand material hardness, cutting tools, speeds and feeds, coolant requirements, and machining techniques.
Interpret geometric dimensioning and tolerances (GD&T) per part drawings.
Potential for field assignments using in‑line machine; some travel may be required.
Adhere to all safety, quality, and environmental rules and regulations.
Qualifications
Mechanical‑related associate’s degree or 7+ years of experience with machining and fabricating.
Minimum 5 years of full‑cycle machining experience, including programming, setup, and operation of machines.
Working knowledge of CAD/CAM (MasterCam) and SolidWorks modeling.
Proficiency in reading and interpreting engineering drawings.
Ability to use precision measuring instruments.
Excellent communication, interpersonal, and customer relations skills.
Legal authorization to work in the United States.
Preferred Qualifications
Welding knowledge preferred.
Experience in the process control industry is a plus.
Knowledge of analyzing, evaluating, diagnosing, and resolving equipment and process‑related problems is strongly preferred.
