Who We Want Primary responsibility for monitoring up to 1,000 Ton Automatic presses ensuring quality stampings are produced per the Challenge Manufacturing Quality Standards, production orders and engineering specifications. Performs necessary quality checks, records information in PLEX (Enterprise Resource Planning system – ERP) and performs general utility work to meet schedule.
What You’ll Do
Perform all duties to ensure department and plant meet daily and weekly production requirements.
Reference production orders in Plex to stamp product per Job Element Sheet (JES).
Select and load correct coils in stamping press to produce a quality stamping.
Frequently lift/move, pull/push, and/or position products and materials weighing up to 40 pounds, occasionally more.
May select proper rack or bin to pack parts and/or store parts for next process.
Properly pack parts in correct pin/storage container per packaging instructions to meet customer requirements and ensures proper labeling requirements are followed.
Use personal computer (PC), Plex system, keyboard, and mouse.
Complete online work center and operator inspection sheets to verify processes are stable and all visual inspection and gauge requirements are being met.
Visually inspect parts from stamping press per Challenge Manufacturing quality standards to ensure proper form, fit, and function and that customer and Challenge Manufacturing quality standards are met per gauge instructions.
Ensure and maintain safety and cleanliness of work area by performing housekeeping duties.
Perform and cross‑train on various work centers as required.
Complete appropriate paperwork and other documentation (hourly count boards).
Meet daily production requirements.
When & Where This is a
2nd Shift / 2PM-10PM
Monday – Friday
position located at our
Plant in Walker, MI . Occasionally, you may be required to arrive early, stay late, or work on weekends to meet customer needs.

High School Graduate or equivalent.
One year of manufacturing experience.
High standards of performance for self, taking responsibility.
Positive action to resolve conflict objectively and maintain positive relationships.
Flexibility to move within own and other work areas.
Knowledge and skills necessary to perform all job responsibilities.
Ability to focus on benefits of change and view it as positive.
Collaborative attitude and knowledge sharing.
Reliability, punctuality, and ability to understand and follow written and verbal instructions.
Must work up to 12 hours per day including Saturday and Sunday.
Ability to read and interpret job element sheets.
Ability to use a variety of gauges required.
PC and keyboard/mouse skills required.
Ability to frequently lift/move material up to 40 pounds.
Teamwork skills, work as a contributing member within team environment.
Must be 18 years of age or older.
Physically capable of performing essential functions for 8–10 hours a day.
