The Role: Reporting to the F&B General Manager, the Server Assistant will assist food service employees in delivering food to tables, maintain cleanliness, attend to needs behind the bar, clean tables, carry dirty dishes, replace soiled table linens, set tables, replenish supply of clean linens, silverware, glassware and dishes, and serve water, appetizers and coffee to patrons.

Summary: Reporting to the F&B General Manager, the Server Assistant will assist food service employees in delivering food to tables, maintain cleanliness and attend to needs behind the bar, clean tables, carry dirty dishes, replace soiled table linens; setting tables; replenish supply of clean linens, silverware, glassware, and dishes; and serve water, appetizers and coffee to patrons. The person in this position must have good communication skills, the ability to resolve conflict, and a thorough understanding of company policies. Furthermore, all team members must develop and maintain the company’s culture, values, and reputation in the public eye, and with all staff, guests, vendors and partners.

Develop a thorough knowledge of the food menu, wine list, floor plan, position numbers, and beverage program.
Follow our service standards to consistently execute our steps of service in order to be present with our guests, having service become second nature.
Gain a deep understanding of each menu item to be able to communicate easily with guests and ensure any allergens are avoided when applicable.
Be approachable, knowledgeable, and confident, able to answer any guest questions.
Be able to navigate guests through the beverage menu and wine list, displaying a deep knowledge of our cocktails, beer, and wines by the glass.
Be adept and accurate at entering orders in the POS and processing payment.
Collaborate with the team to ensure everyone is working cohesively during set-up, service and at closing.
Complete opening and closing side-work as needed.
Maintain a clean and safe work environment.
Abide by all State, Federal and Corporate requirements pertaining to serving alcoholic beverages.
Comply with attendance rules and be available to work on a regular basis.
Perform any other job related duties as assigned.
Qualifications
Six (6) months related experience in hospitality or service industry
Previous restaurant experience preferred but not required
Strong communication and multitasking skills
Ability to work in a fast-paced environment
Team player with a positive attitude
Must be able to stand and walk for long periods
Require a Food Handler and/or Alcohol Server Certificate, depending on local laws
