Summary Description Reporting to the Production Supervisor, the Machine Operator is responsible for providing the customer with the highest quality product in an efficient and cost‑effective manner. The operator monitors and operates machinery on production lines to comply with established standard operating practices for each customer.
Essential Job Functions
Adhere to health and safety policies, GMPs, and wear PPE while in warehouse or production areas.
Maintain food quality and safety per corporate, customer, and governing bodies (e.g., SQF).
Read, understand, and follow a production schedule; communicate issues or deviations.
Maintain production flow on machinery, monitor downstream/upstream issues, supply raw materials, and perform minor servicing when needed.
Follow Quality Assurance SOPs and production line procedures.
Perform equipment changeovers, reading imperial and metric measurements.
Record all necessary information for production and quality records; keep accurate downtime reports.
Perform equipment and general sanitation as assigned.
Collaborate with all departments to improve quality, increase efficiencies, and reduce waste.
Recognize visual and auditory cues for production or machine related issues.
Perform minor machine maintenance.
Perform any other duties assigned by leadership, including cross training, plant sanitation, inventory management, and training.
Required Skills
Experience in high‑speed beverage production; beverage production experience preferred.
Ability to understand production machinery, forklifts, and technical issues.
Work quickly and accurately under pressure.
Basic mathematical skills.
Skill in interpreting gauges, thermometers, and weight measurements.
Formal training in WHMIS, HACCP, Hygiene preferred.
Forklift certification may be required.
Competencies
Problem‑solving: troubleshoot machinery and production issues efficiently.
Teamwork: collaborate with coworkers to achieve production targets.
Documentation: accurately record production data and maintain organized records.
Safety awareness: knowledge of safety protocols and timely completion of required training.
Communication: effective verbal and written communication with team members and supervisors.
Education and Experience
High School certification or equivalent.
1–3 years relevant manufacturing experience preferred.
Working Conditions
Work schedule: weekdays, weekends, afternoons, evenings, overnight and holidays; overtime as needed.
Environment: fast‑paced production plant with moving parts, noise requiring hearing protection, variable temperatures.
Travel Requirements 0% travel anticipated.
Physical Requirements
Rarely: stand for extended periods.
Occasionally: stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl; lift up to 50 lbs.
Frequently: carry weight, lift, walk, push/pull, drive forklift, climb stairs/ladders, balance.
Vision: attention to detail using one or two senses.
Coordination and dexterity: excellent hand‑eye coordination.
Mental stress: pressure from deadlines, quotas, accuracy.

Benefits Pay Range:
$18.00–$19.00 per hour, plus eligibility for performance‑based bonuses.
