Now offering a $10,000 sign‑on bonus for full‑time Mechanic/Vehicle Technicians. Spee Dee Delivery is a family owned and operated company founded in 1978 by Donald and Sylvia Weeres. Our core business is in standard, next‑day, ground delivery. The corporate headquarters and main sort facility is located in St. Cloud, MN, and we employ over 1,800 employees company‑wide; we have expanded throughout the Midwest.
Job Summary The Mechanic/Vehicle Technician will diagnose and repair gasoline engines, hydraulic brakes, steering and suspension systems, electrical systems, and diesel emission systems.
Hours and Wages
Available shifts: Monday‑Friday, 3:00 PM start
Available shifts: Monday‑Friday, 11:00 PM start
Part‑time opportunities available with flexible options
Wages: $20.00‑$33.00 per hour (based on experience)
Shift differential: $2.00 per hour
Occasional Saturdays, as needed for full‑time
Paid overtime: time and a half after 40 hours per week
Duties and Responsibilities
Ability to use scan tool and laptop technology
Follow reasonable instructions from shift leader
Work independently or with a team
Perform routine truck inspections and maintenance of fleet equipment
Help maintain an effective and clean work environment
Must have own tools or ability to obtain own tools to complete all job functions
Perform other related duties as assigned
Skills and Abilities
Welding and torch experience is a plus (not required)
Ability to operate a manual transmission vehicle or willingness to learn
Education and Experience
At least 18 years of age
High school diploma or equivalent preferred
2 years of technical instruction in diesel or auto mechanics preferred
Physical Requirements
Ability to lift up to 75 pounds
Ability to pass a DOT physical exam
Must be able to spend a minimum of eight hours on feet
Work environment involves ability to bend, kneel, crouch, walk, and drive
Possible hazards: diesel exhaust, brake dust, grease, antifreeze, and other elements associated with vehicle repair
