Are you enthusiastic about hospitality, people, and beautiful places? By working at Yellowstone National Park, you will get all three! As the Plumber, you will play a vital role in supporting the day-to-day maintenance functions that keep the park running smoothly.

Job Summary Our Engineering and Maintenance department does it all! From troubleshooting to preserving our rich history and being stewards of our iconic lodges, hands‑on skills are needed to get the job done right. There are a variety of positions at our parks and lodges that range from skilled technicians to skilled trades. Plumbers will perform plumbing assessments, preventative maintenance and the repair/replacement of new and existing plumbing systems.

The Details

Position Type: Seasonal

Season Dates: April 2026 – November 2026 (Actual season dates vary depending on location)

Pay: $23.70 – $24.35 per hour

Schedule: Typical schedule is 40 hours, 5 days per week (may include weekends, evenings, and holidays)

Responsibilities

Implants the planned and scheduled workload, ensuring quality of work, timeliness and cost effectiveness.

Performs plumbing assessments, preventative maintenance, and the repair/replacement of new and/or existing plumbing systems.

Accountable for accurately documenting labor and materials used on jobs and for the ordering of items needed for job completion or inventory replacement.

Ensures proper work method and products are used on both historic and non‑historic structures.

Responsible for ensuring all work is performed in compliance with current codes.

Safeguards the care, maintenance and security of all assigned equipment and tools.

Maintains a safe work environment and ensures proper Personal Protection Equipment (PPE) is being correctly used.

Maintains a spirit of cooperation within the departments throughout the location.

Qualifications

Must have the mechanical aptitude required to complete common plumbing repairs.

Must be proficient in the operation and use of common plumbing equipment and tools.

Must have a general knowledge of OSHA requirements and the use of personal protective equipment.

Must be able to read, understand and comply with all company policies and procedures.

Must be capable of and willing to advance his or her plumbing knowledge and expertise through on‑the‑job training and self‑study.

Must be at least 19 years old and have a valid driver’s license; good driving record required.

Physical Requirements

This position may require the use of respiratory protection and compliance with applicable regulations.

Must be capable of lifting and moving objects weighing up to 50 pounds.

Must possess physical stamina to perform labor of moderate intensity, sometimes in an outside environment at altitude (6,000 – 8,000 feet above sea level).

Must possess physical stamina to withstand heavy, labor‑related work in an outside environment, including standing, bending, kneeling, crawling for extended periods of time.

Must be able to walk long distances over uneven terrain and climb stairs and ladders in all types of weather conditions.
