Job Description Summary This position is responsible for the proper operation and maintenance of portable devices. Responsibilities include inspecting, testing, and performing fire extinguisher checks in accordance with fire code; identifying system deficiencies and preparing accurate and timely inspection reports.
This role will be a combination of Service, Inspections, and Sales. Pay Range: $20–$26 hourly depending on experience. Commission plans included with NO CAP. Company vehicle will be provided.
Essential Duties & Responsibilities
Install or service fire extinguishers in commercial and residential buildings
Test and repair fire extinguishers already in place
Perform inspections to ensure fire extinguishers are installed according to code
Complete detailed inspection reports, documenting any issues
Report results of work completed in an accurate and timely manner
Protect and maintain company equipment
Inspect and maintain the truck and all related equipment, putting in repair requests as necessary to maintain safe operation
Operate warehouse equipment, including vehicles, in a way that facilitates the loading and unloading of the truck while observing all safety regulations and manufacturer’s safety instructions for that equipment
Work in a safe manner as outlined by company safety procedures including driver safety and personal protective equipment
Respond to emergency service calls
Maintain a clean and safe workspace
Perform other duties assigned by management
Education / Qualifications
A high school education or equivalent (preferred)
Minimum 1‑year experience in fire extinguisher portables
Fire extinguisher license is a plus
Eligible for state licensing
Knowledge of NFPA standards (preferred)
Experience with fire extinguishers (preferred)
Troubleshooting skills
Good interpersonal skills; able to work in a team and independently
Flexible with scheduling, including evenings, weekends, or out‑of‑town assignments
Knowledge of life‑safety principles and practices
Knowledge of related codes and regulations
Ability to review official documents for completeness and accuracy
Ability to recognize and report deviations through inspection programs
Other Duties
Adhere to the Code of Conduct, Confidentiality Agreement, and Company Safety Policy
Perform other duties as assigned
Physical Requirements
Regular standing, walking, reaching, stooping, kneeling, crouching, or crawling; occasional lifting of heavy objects
Requires balancing, climbing, grasping, hearing, mental acuity, pulling, pushing, repetitive motion, speaking, and visual acuity
