Position Summary With direct supervision from a Lead Technician, Fleet Maintenance Supervisor or Maintenance Manager, a Maintenance Technician A performs repair and maintenance work on diesel and non-diesel equipment and trucks including chassis components, refuse bodies (control, hydraulic, electrical), air brake systems, general engine work, HVAC components, suspension, drive‑train and steering systems. Enjoy the benefits of working with state‑of‑the‑art equipment, supporting drivers on their routes and servicing technically advanced vehicles.
Principal Responsibilities
Maintain advanced knowledge and perform complex repair maintenance functions on vehicle components on‑site and on the road.
Repair and maintain chassis components, refuse bodies, air and hydraulic braking systems, engines, suspension, drive‑train and steering systems, heating and air conditioning systems, and perform line maintenance welding and fabrication.
Identify malfunctions using electronic diagnostic tools.
Complete applicable company training programs.
Perform other job‑related duties as assigned or apparent.
Qualifications
3 years experience as a technician working on heavy‑duty trucks.
Ability to perform inspections and repairs independently in the following heavy truck systems (not all required): suspensions & steering, general engine, transmissions, brakes, electrical, hydraulics, drive train, diesel emissions.
ASE Heavy Truck Certifications (T1‑T8) are a plus.
LNG and/or CNG experience is a plus.
Class B or higher Commercial Driver’s License is a plus.
Minimum Requirements
Valid Driver’s License.
