Contract Manufacturing Production Assistant
Catbird is seeking a highly organized, detail‑oriented Production Assistant to support our Production and Purchasing teams in bringing our jewelry collections to life. The role is essential to keeping our supply chain running smoothly from placing purchase orders to coordinating with vendors and ensuring timely delivery of materials and finished goods. The ideal candidate is proactive, thrives in a fast‑paced environment, and enjoys working cross‑functionally.
Base Pay Range $64,500.00/yr – $65,000.00/yr

Key Responsibilities
Assist the Production and Purchasing teams with daily operational tasks to ensure smooth workflow and on‑time delivery.
Create, submit, and track purchase orders (POs) for materials, components, and finished goods.
Maintain accurate production records, timelines, and order statuses.
Serve as a point of contact for domestic and international vendors; communicate order details, production changes, and timelines.
Follow up on outstanding items, confirm delivery schedules, and resolve discrepancies or delays.
Pull and compile ad‑hoc, weekly, and monthly reports for team members (production status, delivery timelines, etc.).
Update internal databases, spreadsheets, and ERP systems; assist with data clean‑up and process documentation as needed.
Support sample, repair, and return management; track samples, log incoming/outgoing items, and organize inventory.
Assist with quality checks, material inspection, and general production needs.
Help maintain organized production files, digital folders, and shared resources.
Prepare shipping labels, coordinate shipments, and track packages when needed.
Our Ideal Candidate
1–2 years of experience in production, supply chain, purchasing, or a similar support role (experience in jewelry, fashion, or consumer goods preferred).
Strong organizational skills and impeccable attention to detail.
Excellent communication skills with the ability to interact professionally with vendors and internal teams.
Proficiency in Excel/Google Sheets; comfort working with ERP/PLM systems is a plus.
Ability to manage multiple deadlines and prioritize tasks in a fast‑paced environment.
Problem‑solving mindset and willingness to take initiative.
Experience with jewelry components, manufacturing processes, or raw materials.
Familiarity with inventory management systems or production software.
