Position Overview
Diesel Technician First Shift – Permanent Full Time – Senior Level – Ryder Supply Chain Solutions, Tucker, GA.
Key Responsibilities
Perform vehicle maintenance and repair duties, including routine preventive maintenance and complex mechanical and electronic problem diagnosis.
Complete detailed mechanical inspections and component replacements with minimal supervision.
Maintain facility maintenance duties and interact with customers and drivers to determine complaint nature.
Utilize shop management system and electronic documentation and mentor junior technicians.
Adhere to federal, provincial, and corporate compliance guidelines and required training (e.g., SBTIII).
Qualifications
High school diploma or equivalent (preferred).
Three years or more relevant work experience (preferred). Minimum two years of heavy‑duty equipment mechanical repair and diagnostics.
Valid Commercial Driver License (CDL) Class A (preferred). Must obtain CDL within 6 months after hire.
Basic tools usage and mechanical repair skills for automotive gas or diesel engines, including preventive maintenance, diagnostic and repair of AC and electrical systems.
Computer skills: PC, Windows, mouse.
Pass Ryder drug test, DOT physical, background check, and road test.
Benefits
Hourly pay:
$30.50
per hour.
Quarterly bonus: up to $500 every quarter.
Sign‑on bonus: $1,750 at 30 days and $1,750 at 90 days.
First Shift schedule: 7:00 am – 3:30 pm, Monday–Saturday with one day off per week.
Annual merit pay increases every year.
On‑job paid training.
Medical, dental, vision, 401 K starting at 30 days.
Paid time off accrues starting day one (80 hours per year).
Additional day off for U.S. military veterans.
