IWCO
The Maintenance Mechanic is responsible for repairing and maintaining machinery equipment, buildings and facilities maintenance, and installing new equipment and machinery in accordance with company policy and procedures.
Primary Duties/Responsibilities
Start and shut down equipment in accordance with company safety procedures and OSHA requirements.
Install, repair, rebuild, and maintain production machinery and mechanical equipment; maximize production time and minimize down time.
Diagnose machine malfunctions and operating difficulties.
Make repairs or adjustments to keep equipment operational.
Rebuild machines and overhaul unreliable components and attachments; dismantle, inspect, and replace parts as necessary.
Recognize opportunities to upgrade or enhance the productivity and functionality of equipment.
Provide emergency and unscheduled repairs of production equipment.
Maintain a clean and safe work area.
Perform other (or other related) duties as applicable or assigned.
Experience with Lock-Out/Tag-Out.
Strong verbal and written communication skills.
Organized and effective decision-maker.
Strong mechanical, electrical, mathematical, and analytical skills.
Detail-oriented.
Basic computer aptitude.
Education and Experience
High school diploma or equivalent required.
2+ years’ vocational/technical school in mechanical repair.
2+ years’ experience as a technician in a manufacturing environment.
Previous participation on a safety team and/or other safety training a plus.
Physical Requirements
Ability to work consecutively 8‑hour shift and train on 1st shift
Ability to maintain an active physical presence on the production floor.
Flexibility to work additional hours as necessary.
Ability to lift, carry and push/pull up to 50 pounds.
Comfortable working at heights in an aerial lift.
May be exposed to loud noise, outdoor climates, and confined spaces.
Ability to stand, walk, bend, twist, pivot, crouch, squat, kneel, and stoop for up to 8 hours.
Sensory requirements: vision, hearing, feeling.
Upper extremity motion requirements: fine motor movements, pushing/pulling with arms, grasping and pinching.
Lower extremity motion requirements: reaching.
Pre‑employment post‑offer physical assessment, drug screen and background required.
Salary: The hourly rate range for this position is $25-34/hr.
