Position Summary The Mechanic will be responsible for locating sources of problems by observing mechanical devices in operation. Mechanics remove defective parts by dismantling devices; using hoists, cranes, and hand and power tools; examining form and texture of parts. The Mechanic determines changes in dimensional requirements of parts by inspecting used parts; using rules, calipers, micrometers, and other measuring instruments. Additionally, Mechanics will need to document any maintenance that may take place.
Key Functions & Responsibilities The responsibilities include the following:
Performs scheduled preventive maintenance and repairs on cup packagers and carton sealing
Perform preventive maintenance of Paper Machinery (PMC) and Thermoforming Cup Forming machines
Perform preventive maintenance and repair of carton sealer and related conveying equipment
Properly and accurately complete all required record keeping, ordering and other necessary paperwork
Proper use and adherence to Lockout/Tagout Procedures
Must follow precise instructions and directions
Ability to read blueprints and technical diagrams
Perform other duties as directed
Practice good housekeeping
Obey all safety rules, regulations and policies
Perform tool changeovers on PMC and Sherwood cup forming machines
