Industrial Facilities Maintenance Technician — Grand Rapids, MI day in the roleWhen you arrive, you’ll step into a fast-moving facility where equipment uptime matters. Your morning might start with a preventive inspection on a conveyor line, followed by a quick PLC-driven system check. By midday, you could be troubleshooting an electrical fault, swapping a servo motor, or diagnosing a pneumatic issue on a CNC cell. If an urgent request comes in, you’ll jump in to keep operations running, document the repair, and collaborate with teammates to prevent a repeat.
Conduct routine inspections and scheduled preventive maintenance for building and production systems.
Diagnose and resolve mechanical, electrical, and plumbing problems with speed and accuracy.
Respond to work orders and on-the-spot emergencies to minimize downtime.
Log maintenance actions, parts used, and findings in clear, complete records.
Support setup and teardown of equipment for events or operational transitions.
Partner with the team to enhance reliability, safety practices, and process efficiency.
Operate in full alignment with safety standards, codes, and internal policies.
Qualifications
High school diploma or equivalent; vocational/technical certification or degree preferred.
Hands-on experience as a maintenance technician or in a comparable role.
Background in high pressure die casting preferred.
Experience working with CNC machinery preferred.
Solid understanding of mechanical, electrical, and plumbing systems.
Ability to read and interpret technical manuals, blueprints, and schematics.
Strong troubleshooting mindset and meticulous attention to detail.
Clear communicator with a collaborative approach.
Flexibility to work varied hours, including weekends and holidays as needed.
