Pay: $28–$35 per hour

Afternoon Shift:

2 pm–10 pm and 5 am–3 pm

Looking for:

Shop Mechanic and Field Mechanic

Overall Responsibility As a mechanic you will primarily be responsible for the repair, service, and maintenance of equipment in the shop and in the field at various job sites. This may include troubleshooting and repairing diesel, hydraulic, electrical, and mechanical equipment. You will operate from a service truck and must perform preventative maintenance services as required.

Perform general or heavy equipment inspection, diagnosis, troubleshooting, maintenance, and repair.

Service equipment to ensure proper operating condition at the job site.

Complete required documentation, timesheets, checklists, receiving records, and repair order logs in a timely manner.

Conduct preventative maintenance to ensure timely and accurate completion of required activities.

Clean work vehicle and work area to maintain safety.

Meet all company, governmental, and equipment‑related safety requirements.

Field mechanics must be able to travel extensively.

Qualifications

Ability to operate all asphalt‑related equipment.

Skill in diagnosing and repairing a wide variety of mechanical and electrical equipment.

Proficiency in using hand and power tools, equipment, and diagnostic devices.

Ability to understand and complete service‑related documents and paperwork.

Physical capability to lift, push, pull, and move up to 70 pounds; able to climb, kneel, twist, and bend in a varied environment.

Dependable and punctual attendance.

Effective communication with supervisors, yard, and dispatch personnel.

Strong safety consciousness and understanding of equipment safety.

Good written and verbal communication skills.

Maintain a satisfactory driving record at all times, subject to insurer approval and applicable laws.

High school diploma or equivalent.

Valid clean driver's license; CDL preferred.

Vocational training, technical certificate, or equivalent.

Minimum of 5 years’ experience as a heavy equipment/diesel mechanic.
