Job Overview This technician performs field activities supporting installation, maintenance, and servicing of commercial HVAC systems for clients across the country.
Responsibilities
Conduct on‑site preventative maintenance, routine repair, and calibration after installation
Handle basic, non‑complex products and refer more complex issues to senior technicians
Use experience and technical skills to determine service requirements and advise management of inspections and corrective actions
Work in a team‑based environment to share information and workload while ensuring customer satisfaction
Maintain a safe work environment by following all safety measures daily
Perform additional duties as assigned
Be flexible for overtime and weekend work as required
Qualifications
High School diploma or GED equivalent
2–6 years of hands‑on commercial HVAC experience
EPA Type I & II or Universal certification (required)
Valid driver’s license with acceptable driving record
Technical aptitude for maintenance, service, and troubleshooting equipment
Excellent customer service skills
Strong electrical and mechanical diagnostic skills
Ability to complete repairs and required paperwork
Capacity to work independently and self‑schedule
Self‑motivated to finish assigned tasks within time constraints
Driven to succeed and able to work with minimum supervision
NATE certification a plus
Availability for weekend and night work occasionally
Travel may be required occasionally
Physical Requirements
Get onto rooftop via fixed or extension ladder
Work at heights and load/unload tools from work van
Lift up to 75 lbs (occasionally) and up to 25 lbs to shoulder/overhead
Push/pull wheeled cart up to 150 lbs
Climb ladder up to roof height and extend reach overhead repetitively
Manual tandem lifting of load up to 125 lbs
Compensation This hourly, non‑exempt role offers a salary range of $35,000 – $70,000 annually, adjusted for geography, tenure, performance, skills, education, experience, and other qualifications. Overtime is paid for hours over 40 in a week; bonus is not available.
