CNC Machinist II (Programmer) – $1000 Sign On Bonus – 3rd Shift

Job Summary Operate and program diverse CNC and manual machining equipment, ensuring precision and product quality while driving continuous improvement.
Responsibilities
Operate and program various types of CNC/manual machinery including lathes, drill presses, surface grinders, tapping machines, hand tools and milling machines with no supervision.
Provide feedback to Team Lead when developing machining processes and required precision levels.
Perform and oversee recording of in‑process quality checks using precision measuring instruments.
Specify appropriate gaging for required accuracy levels and determine appropriate inspection methods based on print tolerances.
Performs duties to support the machine shop, including daily machine preventative maintenance.
Demonstrate proficiency operating all machine tools safely and efficiently.
Monitor peer recordkeeping procedures – timekeeping, closing completed jobs, posting accurate piece counts, maintaining traceability by identifying and legibly marking parts and quantities.
Advocate all applicable company safety regulations and notify supervision of machine malfunctions, accidents, and non‑conforming parts immediately.
Other duties as assigned.
Qualifications & Requirements
Possess personal hand tools needed to perform the job.
Advanced knowledge and experience operating various types of CNC machinery.
Advanced knowledge of programming CNC machinery.
Must have basic reading and writing skills.
Proficient in advanced shop math.
Ability to read all metrology instruments required in the shop.
Use of trigonometry functions to determine bolt patterns, arc tangents and angles.
Basic skills including how to print documents.
Successful completion of 90‑day probationary period.
Education & Experience
High School Diploma or GED equivalent required.
Physical Demands
Prolonged periods of sitting at a desk and working on a computer.
Talking on phone; climbing up and down stairs; walking shop floor.
Standing, stooping, bending, reaching, crawling, and occasionally lifting 50 lbs. or less.
Standing while attending shop machinery.
Work Environment This role primarily operates within a manufacturing facility, with exposure to production floor activities and office environments. While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly exposed to moving mechanical parts and fumes or airborne particles. The noise level in the non‑air conditioned work environment is moderate. Steel toe shoes and safety glasses are required.
