JOB SUMMARY:

Work as a CNC Machinist II & Programmer in our Machine Shop, ensuring precise manufacturing, programming and maintenance of CNC and manual machinery.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES

Operate and program various types of CNC/manual machinery including but not limited to lathes, drill presses, surface grinders, tapping machines, hand tools and milling machines with no supervision.

Provide feedback to Team Lead when developing machining processes and required precision levels.

Perform and oversee recording of in‑process quality checks using precision measuring instruments.

Specify appropriate gaging for accuracy level required.

Determine appropriate inspection methods based on print tolerances.

Perform duties necessary to support the machine shop, including daily machine preventative maintenance.

Demonstrate proficiency operating all machine tools safely and efficiently.

Monitor peer record‑keeping procedures – timekeeping, closing completed jobs, posting accurate piece counts, maintaining traceability by identifying and legibly marking parts and quantities.

Advocate all applicable company safety regulations.

Notify supervision of machine malfunctions, accidents, and non‑conforming parts immediately.

Other duties as assigned.

QUALIFICATIONS & REQUIREMENTS

Possess personal hand tools needed to perform the job.

Advanced knowledge and experience operating various types of CNC machinery.

Advanced knowledge of programming CNC machinery.

Must have basic reading and writing skills.

Proficient in advanced shop math.

Ability to read all metrology instruments required in the shop.

Use of trigonometry functions to determine bolt patterns, arc tangents and angles.

Basic skills including how to print documents.

Successful completion of 90‑day probationary period.

EDUCATION & EXPERIENCE

High School Diploma or GED equivalent required.

PHYSICAL DEMANDS & WORK ENVIRONMENT Physical demands include sedentary work with periods of standing or sitting, light lifting up to 20 lb., medium lifting up to 50 lb., occasional heavy lifting up to 100 lb. The work environment involves a manufacturing facility with exposure to moving mechanical parts and fumes or airborne particles. Moderate noise levels are typical. Steel‑toe shoes and safety glasses are required.
