Shift: 2nd shift, Monday to Friday, 3:00 pm to 11:30 pm.

Job Overview

General Purpose: Perform electrical maintenance tasks on plant utility and process infrastructure. Install and repair electrical systems and machinery components following electrical code, manuals, schematic diagrams, blueprints, and specifications.

Work with limited supervision. Act as informal resource for less experienced colleagues.

Responsibilities

Program, troubleshoot, and operate programmable controllers, distributive control, and interlocking systems.

Install equipment for new electrical services (120 v, 240 v, and 480 v, three phases), including wiring, conduit, panels, breakers, contactors, relays, times, and controls.

Perform work on-site automation systems to component level, including 0‑10‑v and 4‑20 mA signal repairs.

Perform electrical troubleshooting, maintenance, and repair; install or replace circuit breakers, fuses, and variable speed drives.

Work on electrical equipment such as VFDs, contactors, overload devices, fixtures, switches, receptacles, and wiring.

Read and interpret technical procedures, electrical schematics, service manuals, and work orders.

Perform preventive maintenance on equipment, distribution systems, motor control centers, and motors.

Assist operators with training or troubleshooting to minimize downtime.

Maintain communication with other departments, management, and employees, notifying them of issues that may restrict production efficiency.

Stay current on new products, equipment, technology, and techniques.

Apply continuous improvement mindset to identify opportunities for process improvement.

Anticipate parts requirements, follow purchasing procedures, and acquire parts as needed.

Perform and assist in all operations maintenance activities in accordance with national, state, and local electrical codes.

Use a computerized maintenance management system (e.g., SAP) to record and access maintenance-related information.

Maintain safe working conditions and compliance with health and safety regulations.

Follow DFA GMP and all corporate regulatory, food safety, quality, and sanitation requirements.

Other duties may be assigned as required.

Education and Experience

High school diploma or equivalent.

Graduation from trade or technical school in related discipline preferred.

2 to 4 years of electrical maintenance experience, preferably in a manufacturing environment, and automation system maintenance experience.

Electrician journeyman license or other location‑specific license; master electrician preferred.

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities

Thorough knowledge of electrical codes, practices, techniques, tools, and equipment.

Knowledge of national, state, local building codes, OSHA, and industry safety rules/regulations pertaining to electrical work.

Able to use standard hand and power tools, ladders, and scaffolding safely.

Capable of working from sketches, drawings, and blueprints.

Ability to inspect equipment, recognize potential problems, and take corrective action to prevent failures or downtime.

Can perform electrical activities/repairs independently and assist on more complicated repairs.

Can complete minor to mid‑size projects from planning to installation.

Can present options and ideas to improve processes or procedures.

Can perform tasks and duties without constant supervision.

Works effectively in a team environment.

Communicates clearly and effectively, both verbally and in writing.

Has basic math skills: addition, subtraction, multiplication, division, fractions, decimals, and different units of measure.

Basic computer skills.

Proficient in reading, writing, and speaking English.
