StandardAero has an opportunity for a
Welder
with experience in metal fabrication equipment such as Gas Tungsten Arc (GTAW) and resistance welding.
As a
Welder
you will:
Produce a variety of parts from shop drawings to conform to specifications
Read and interpret blueprints or welding process specifications
Operate brazing and soldering equipment
Operate metal shaping machines such as brakes, shears, and other metal straightening and bending machines
Participate in continuous improvement of processes
Cross train in other complementary skills to support production requirements
Observe all applicable safety requirements
Position Requirements:
High School Diploma or GED
Have 2 years TIG welding experience preferred
Ability to read, understand and interpret blueprints and welding process specifications
Completion of a welding apprenticeship program; or equivalent
Ability to lift up to 50 pounds (unassisted) for approximately 25% of the average work day
Well organized with attention to detail
Strong communication and interpersonal skills
Preferred Characteristics:
Previous welding experience in aerospace or aviation environment.
Experience with welding thin gauge material and exotic metals (Inconel and Hastelloy)
Thorough understanding of tool design and fabrication methods and processes
Working knowledge of related company instructions, company processes, reworks process instructions, original equipment manufacturer manuals and MSDS labels
Working knowledge of production management computer system and other related internal control systems
Attainment of trade certification
Attainment of applicable welding ticket(s)
