About The Role As a Machine Operator, you will be responsible for the setup, operation, adjustment, and minor maintenance of multiple packaging and processing machines. You will ensure consistent product quality, efficient equipment output, smooth production line flow, and strong adherence to food safety, quality, and safety standards. Your work directly supports production success by minimizing downtime, optimizing machine settings, and ensuring accurate product changeovers.

Statement of Job The Machine Operator is responsible for the safe and proper operation of multiple production machines, ensuring all food safety and quality processes are maintained. This position sets up production lines, monitors equipment performance, adjusts machinery for optimal results, and performs light maintenance to ensure minimal downtime and efficient throughput.
Major Duties And Responsibilities Equipment Operation & Maintenance
Set up lines according to product specifications.
Observe equipment operation and perform necessary adjustments to meet product requirements.
Control line flows and blend rates according to product specification guidelines.
Monitor product transfer points and adjust equipment to minimize waste.
Perform light maintenance and minor repairs on production and process equipment.
Adjust machines for optimal efficiency, quality output, and minimal rejects.
Quality, Safety & Cleanliness
Ensure all safety, food safety, and quality standards are maintained.
Adhere to GMPs, work rules, and company procedures.
Communicate changes in product flow, deviations, or equipment malfunction to the Production Supervisor.
Maintain clean, organized, and safe work conditions.
Team & Process Support
Work collaboratively with team members to ensure efficient production flow.
Enter data into computer systems and maintain accurate documentation.
Draft routine reports and correspondence as required.
Support plant initiatives and continuous improvement processes.
Special Requirements / Competencies
Strong communication and interpersonal skills; ability to motivate and coordinate with team members.
Ability to read and interpret safety rules, operating instructions, and procedural manuals.
Basic math skills (addition, subtraction, multiplication, division in whole numbers, fractions, and decimals).
Strong attention to detail with ability to adjust equipment accurately.
Ability to comprehend and communicate in Basic English.
Ability to draft routine reports and correspondence.
Computer proficiency for data entry tasks.
Physical Requirements
Regularly required to stand, walk, reach with hands and arms, and use hands/fingers.
Must be able to stand on feet for extended periods.
Frequently required to talk or hear.
Occasionally required to sit, climb, balance, stoop, kneel, crouch, crawl, taste, or smell.
Ability to lift and/or move up to 50 lbs.
Vision requirements include close, distance, color, peripheral, depth perception, and ability to adjust focus.
