Position Title
CNC Set‑Up Technician
Wage $26.00 per hour
Shift 1st
Hours 6:30 am‑3:00 pm (Mon‑Fri)
QPS Employment Group has a great CNC Set‑Up Technician position available at a company in Fenton, MO. This is a 1st shift position with the opportunity for hire.
Responsibilities
Setup, layout and operate various CNC lathes and/or mills
Read blueprint or job order for product specifications such as dimensions and tolerances and tooling instructions such as fixtures, cutting speeds, depth of cut and determine sequence of operations
Select, position, and secure tool in tool holder
Position and secure work piece in holding device, machine table, chuck, centers or fixtures
Move controls to position tool and work piece in relation to each other, and to set specified feeds, speeds and depth of cut
Set up fixture, start machine
Read precision measuring equipment such as micrometers and calipers
Observe operation of machine and verify conformity of machined work piece to specifications
Keep work area clean and orderly
Follow all company rules and safety policies
Discuss errors in diagrams or production order with supervisor or engineer to clarify assembly problems
Requirements
High School Diploma or equivalent
1+ years of previous CNC experience preferred
Ability to add and subtract/basic math
Ability to follow written and verbal instructions
Good hand‑eye coordination
Ability to lift up to 25 lb
Ability to stand 90 % of shift
