Key Responsibilities
Operates and maintains manual lathe, surface grinder, and milling machine.
Reviews drawings, instructions, blueprints or samples to ensure accurate production.
Selects appropriate machine and settings for a given task.
Plans proper sequence of tasks to complete the assignment.
Monitors production, adjusting feed and other settings as necessary.
Maintains inventory of completed products.
Checks output for quality assurance and documents or discards defects.
Identifies need for and performs machine maintenance and minor repairs.
Contributes to team effort by accomplishing related tasks as needed.
Proficient in precision measuring tools: calipers, micrometers, dial indicators, etc.
Proficient in reading dimensional and assembly drawings.
Education and Specialized Skills Profile
High school degree or equivalent.
Prefer 2-year college in mechanical maintenance or vocational machinist trade or apprenticeship in related field.
Experience working with machine tools and mechanical assembly.
Working knowledge of safety protocols.
