Position: Welder
Start Pay Range: $24–$30 per hour depending on experience. Eligible for a yearly profit‑share plan (22% of base and overtime wages in 2024; 20% in 2023). Performance evaluations occur every 90 days with potential for a pay increase. Current maximum salary is $31.50 per hour.
Summary Full‑time 1st‑shift position. Must be able to work overtime.
Responsibilities
Set up weldments according to blueprint specifications.
Place and align jigs and fixtures to hold parts and mount the workpiece onto a welding positioner.
Position C‑clamps, bar clamps, and install shims, wedges, and spacers to align weldments before welding.
Apply state‑of‑the‑art welding technology to join metal fabricated assemblies and subassemblies in accordance with blueprint specifications.
Use welding methods including arc, shielded‑arc, flux‑core gas‑shielded, MIG, and/or TIG weld processes.
Education & Experience
High‑school graduate with a minimum of 2‑year vocational school education, major concentration in welding technology.
Welding training in accordance with the AWS 14.1 welding code (certification desirable) combined with 3–5 years related experience and/or training.
Knowledge of blueprint reading.
Physical Requirements Must be physically capable of occasionally lifting or moving up to 50 pounds.
