Position Summary A Machine Operator in the Made to Order Value Stream is responsible for producing a variety of high quality, precision cylindrical plug or ring gages for the gage industry.
Essential Job Functions
Setup, operation, and troubleshooting of manual grinding, CNC grinding/lathes, heat treat and sand blasting processes that produce a variety of gage products.
Produce products while maintaining daily production totals and maintaining diameters at very close tolerances.
Understand basic CNC programming to utilize existing programs and make modifications if necessary.
Perform basic data entry functions and monitor part conformance based on blueprint specifications or work order instructions.
Inspect product using measuring equipment and maintain quality production in accordance with company standards.
Remake and/or rework products that do not meet required specifications.
Maintain established production levels for all operations performed.
Input basic data entries using internal computer programs on a daily basis.
Set up and operate Chrome plating processes and procedures (if required).
Set up and operate Heat Treat equipment and processes (if required).
Follow all company policies, ergonomic standards, and safety procedures.
Requirements Perform other duties as required. Regular and on-time attendance is required. Be at work on time when scheduled to work, and remain at work throughout the established work schedule.
Qualifications
Education: High school education required or an equivalent of education and experience from which comparable knowledge and abilities can be acquired.
Experience/skills: Ability to read, write, and perform basic mathematical functions in the areas of fractions, decimals, metrics, conversions, as well as working knowledge of basic
Compensation & Benefits
Status & Pay Class: Full Time - Hourly / Non-Exempt
Shift: 3rd Shift / 10% shift differential / Overtime May Be Required
Work Schedule: 3rd Shift Sunday - Thursday 11:00pm - 7:00am; Alternative work hours may be considered, if applicable.
Training Schedule: 1st Shift Monday - Friday 7:00am - 3:30pm.
Wage Rate: $18.00 to $32.05 (starting wage negotiable based on previous knowledge/experience).
