This position is located at the
Lee County Utilities Three Oaks Wastewater Plant.
It is responsible for operating and monitoring wastewater treatment facilities in accordance with Florida rules, regulations and statutes. Insure proper plant compliance via various process control tests.
Responsibilities
Insure proper plant compliance via various process control tests.
Water analysis on all stages of treatment.
Monitor and control system pressures and levels.
Inspect chemical deliveries and unlock appropriate tank fill valve.
Adjust plant equipment for compliance.
Minimum Requirements
High school diploma or GED, or similar experience.
One (1) year of wastewater treatment or closely related experience.
Able to work safely around water, chemicals, and machines.
Licenses
Possession of a Florida-issued Wastewater Treatment Plant Operator Class "A", "B", or "C" license is required.
Operator "A" Requires any combination of education and experience equivalent to graduation from High School and five years of related work experience.
Operator "B" Requires any combination of education and experience equivalent to graduation from High School and three years of related work experience.
Operator "C" Requires any combination of education and experience equivalent to graduation from High School and one year of related work experience.
Requires possession of a valid driver's license with an acceptable driving record.
Additional Qualifications
Knowledge of tools and equipment used for daily operations of the treatment facility.
Knowledge of lab supplies.
Ability to perform necessary tests and analysis.
Ability to communicate clearly and effectively; verbally and in written form.
Knowledge of treatment facility regulations and specifications.
This position requires a rotational shift to cover 24/7 operations.
Shifts are 40 hours per week and can include nights, weekends, and holidays.
