Wastewater Treatment Operator Trainee
HOURLY WAGE: $14.22 - $20.09

The Utilities Board of The City of Ozark is seeking applications for a Wastewater Treatment Operator Trainee. Under the close supervision of the Wastewater Supervisor, the trainee learns and performs daily operation and maintenance duties at wastewater treatment and pumping facilities. This position is for a minimum 40-hour work week with overtime probable. The Utilities Board offers great benefits to include RSA retirement, long term disability insurance, health and dental insurance. Minimum qualifications: Preferably attainment of high school graduation or GED equivalent, and some experience in wastewater treatment operation or demonstrate an ability to become proficient in the operation and maintenance activities at wastewater treatment and pumping facilities. Applicants must possess the physical strength to meet the demands of the work, and the ability to follow oral and written instructions. Special Requirements: Within three years of hire date, must obtain a State of Alabama Grade III Wastewater Operator Certificate. Must possess a valid Alabama driver's license and be insurable under the Board's vehicle liability insurance policy. Must obtain a Class A commercial driver's license with tanker endorsement within six months of hire date. A complete job description is available upon request.
