Description This position is primarily responsible for layouts, fits, and welds fabricated, cast, and forged components to assemble structural forms such as tractor frames, tractor parts, and OEM parts for sale. The job includes planning, assembling, and welding tasks as described below.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities
Selects equipment and plans layout, assembly, and welding.
Layouts, positions, aligns, and fits components together.
Welding: Fluxcore, MIG, and some TIG.
Bolts, clamps, and tack‑welds parts to secure in position for welding.
Setups equipment and welds parts using arc, gas‑shielded arc, or gas welding equipment.
Monitors the welding, burning, and fitting process to ensure parts are not overheated or damaged by warping, distortion, expansion, or shrinkage.
Reads blueprints.
Repairs products by dismantling, straightening, reshaping, and reassembling parts.
Notifies supervisor when faulty equipment or defective materials are discovered.
Maintains, organizes, and cleans equipment and the work area.
Requirements Education and/or Experience : High school diploma or GED; or 2 years related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
Physical Requirements
Must be able to weld components that are vertical, flat, or overhead, as required.
Must have enough manual dexterity and stability as required for precision work.
Must be able to see details at close range.
Must be able to lift up to 35 pounds at times.
Required Skills and Abilities
Thorough understanding of machines and tools used in welding including designs, uses, maintenance, and repair.
Basic understanding of design techniques, principles, and tools necessary for the precise production of technical plans, drawings, models, and blueprints.
Excellent ability to read and listen to assignments given in a variety of forms.
Basic understanding of mathematics as related to welding assignments.
Have excellent organizational, verbal, and written communication skills.
Must have a professional, outgoing manner.
Must be detail‑oriented and work effectively under pressure while meeting all applicable deadlines.
Must be able to work independently and productively with minimum supervision; work well under pressure; able to multitask and manage multiple projects.
Other Qualifications
Able to work a flexible schedule to include weekends and holidays.
Use of safety glasses, steel‑toed shoes, and other job‑specific PPE required.
Must know MIG, TIG, and Gas welding processes.
Minimum two to three years trade experience.
Must have reliable transportation.
