Overview Are you a proactive legal professional with a passion for litigation support and risk management? Join our team as a Risk Litigation Paralegal, where you'll play a key role in supporting claims litigation.

What You’ll Do

Partner with Risk Counsel to support all aspects of claims litigation and potential litigation

Conduct legal research and respond to internal inquiries

Coordinate claims reporting and monitoring with excess carriers

Manage subpoena and discovery responses, and review standard draft motions

Support a portfolio of complex liability claims

Provide litigation avoidance advice and assist with strategic counseling

Serve as the primary contact for CT Corporation service of process documents

What You Bring

Paralegal certification or equivalent experience

Strong research, writing, and organizational skills

Experience in litigation support and claims management

Ability to work cross‑functionally and manage multiple priorities

Location & Work Schedule This position is located at our Corporate Headquarters in Clayton, MO. The position is eligible for a hybrid work schedule.

Responsibilities

Research, analyze and draft case and issue specific litigation information

Manage resources in anticipation of discovery, trial and other litigation projects as requested

Draft answers, discovery requests, responses to discovery, basic motions and similar pleadings, under the direction of an attorney

Analyze, review and organize privileged documents and data from materials produced during discovery and prepare/coordinate document production and responses to discovery questions

Perform administrative duties including, coordinate litigation support functions, manage case docket, documents and files

Assist with preparation of federal and state administration filings

Collaborate with internal/external legal counsel and other corporate teams to ensure consistency with company policies, standards and contract terms

Consult with attorneys in the Corporate Legal Department and recognize key issues requiring elevation to attorneys

Manage a broad range of litigation matters, exercising comfort and conversancy in a variety of litigation‑type proceedings

Conduct legal research and factual investigation

Monitor, track and report on industry‑related topics affecting the Company’s operations and IP needs

Investigation using Westlaw, REJIS, social media, etc.

Conduct legal research and keep abreast of laws and regulations that apply to the Company’s operations and IP needs

Conduct Westlaw, Lexis and Pacer research and other research as needed

Maintain agreements in electronic form and assist in enhancing contract lifecycle management, and similar, tools

Maintain and cultivate relationships with internal stakeholders

Review and analyze discovery testimony and medical record production on a limited basis upon request

Assist in the receipting, tracking, and management of Service of Process documents

Seek to improve job performance through self‑assessment, skill development, training and goal setting

Maintain a regular and reliable level of attendance and punctuality

Perform miscellaneous job‑related duties as assigned

Qualifications Required:

Paralegal or other relevant certification

Two (2+) years of experience as a litigation paralegal with a private law firm or in‑house legal department

Must be authorized to work in the United States and not require work authorization sponsorship by our company for this position now or in the future

Preferred

Insurance defense and coverage litigation experience
