About our client: Our startup client is an event technology company in high growth mode and well funded in NYC.
About the role: They are looking for an HR Business Partner to join the People team as part of the global HR team and act as the leading HR function in the NY office.
As an HR Business Partner, you will be a close partner to all leaders in our NY team. Your work will be instrumental in developing and growing the team, while maintaining the culture and values. This position requires an extremely perceptive person capable of relating to individuals at all levels of the organization. We’re looking for someone with a ‘can-do’ approach. Reports to: VP HR.
Key Responsibilities:
Coach and develop managers and individual contributors
Assist employees and managers in resolving workplace issues and grievances
Assess employee development needs, make recommendations, and implement solutions
Participate in recruitment processes to ensure hiring of qualified talent
Collaborate with leadership to develop HR strategies supporting growth
Act as a trusted advisor for senior leaders
Partner with sales leadership on HR programs such as career paths, performance reviews, and compensation & rewards
Handle employee relations, inquiries, and sensitive matters with discretion
Manage daily HR operations including compensation, benefits, and health & safety compliance
Create and track employment metrics to improve efficiency and measure program success
Develop monthly reporting for senior management
Initiate programs to foster company culture
Lead cross-company HR projects
Requirements:
At least 5 years of HR management experience in small to mid-sized tech companies
Proven recruiting experience, especially for customer-facing roles (Marketing, Sales, etc.)
Experience working in a fast-paced startup environment – ideal
Experience working globally – ideal
Experience working with C-level managers, with consultancy and business partnership skills
Project management skills with the ability to drive programs independently
Strong analytical skills to translate data into actionable plans
Excellent interpersonal and communication skills to build relationships at all levels
Bachelor’s degree in human resources or related field
A creative, resourceful problem solver with excellent teamwork, proactive, and self-motivated
Compensation: Base salary + competitive employee benefits
