We are seeking a driven and knowledgeable professional with a strong background in electrical distribution and a proven track record of success in selling to government entities, including federal and state agencies, municipalities, and prime government contractors. You will spearhead our business development efforts in the public sector—identifying, pursuing, and managing contract opportunities on SAM.gov, Texas SmartBuy, City of Houston procurement portals, USCIS, Department of Defense, and others. Your ability to navigate government procurement processes, leverage our minority-business status, and build lasting relationships with key stakeholders will be critical to your success. Key Responsibilities: •
Lead government sales strategy:
Develop and implement a growth strategy targeting federal, state, and municipal agencies, as well as large prime contractors and subcontractors. •
Opportunity development:
Search, evaluate, and respond to bid opportunities through portals such as SAM.gov, Texas SmartBuy, and other RFP/RFQ platforms. •
Client relationship management:
Cultivate relationships with procurement officers, purchasing agents, and supply chain managers in both the public sector and major contractors. •
Product focus:
Promote and sell electrical materials, cable assemblies, and other industrial products tailored to the needs of government and defense clients. •
Minority business strategy:
Leverage our status as a certified minority-owned business to gain access to set-aside contracts and preferred vendor opportunities. •
Partnership development:
Identify and collaborate with other vendors, subcontractors, and strategic partners to pursue joint ventures and team bids. Qualifications: • 3–7 years of experience in business development or sales in the electrical distribution or industrial supply sector. • Demonstrated experience selling to or managing contracts with government agencies, DoD, municipalities, or public sector organizations. • Deep understanding of the SAM.gov platform, including bid searching, proposal submission, and compliance. • Familiarity with public procurement laws, certifications, and processes. • Experience with prime/subcontractor networks, including how to become a supplier to large defense contractors. • Proven track record of closing deals and winning bids in a competitive, compliance-driven environment. • Strong written and verbal communication skills; experience with proposal writing is a plus. • Knowledge of cable assembly products and custom manufacturing is a significant advantage. • Bachelor's degree in Business, Engineering, Supply Chain, or related field preferred.
