The
Fund Accounting Manager
will oversee the accounting, reporting, and operational functions for a portfolio of private equity and/or closed-end investment funds. This individual will ensure accuracy and timeliness of financial statements, investor reporting, and regulatory filings, while mentoring junior staff and working closely with internal and external stakeholders. Key Responsibilities Oversee monthly, quarterly, and annual fund accounting processes including NAV calculations, allocations, and investor capital account statements. Review and approve journal entries, financial statements, and supporting schedules prepared by staff or third-party administrators. Ensure compliance with GAAP, fund agreements, and regulatory requirements (e.g., SEC, IRS). Manage capital activity including contributions, distributions, calls, and waterfalls. Serve as a point of contact for auditors, fund administrators, and tax advisors. Support the launch of new funds, including fund setup, onboarding, and coordination with legal and operations teams. Provide performance and financial analysis to internal stakeholders, including IR, deal teams, and senior leadership. Lead and mentor a team of accountants, fostering a culture of accuracy, accountability, and continuous improvement. Required Qualifications Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or Finance (CPA preferred). 4–10+ years of fund accounting experience, ideally within private equity, venture capital, or real assets. Strong understanding of U.S. GAAP, fund structures (LP/GP), and partnership accounting. Experience with capital call/distribution waterfalls and carried interest calculations. Proficient in accounting/reporting systems Exceptional organizational, analytical, and communication skills. Ability to thrive in a fast-paced, deadline-driven environment. Preferred Qualifications CPA and/or CFA designation. Big 4 or fund administrator background a plus. Seniority level
