Applications Engineer - Medical
The Applications Engineer's primary function is to support the implementation of new products/processes through direct collaboration with customers and internal teams. The Applications Engineer will work closely with Manufacturing, Engineering, Purchasing, and Sales during the initial phase and scale-up of production operations.

On-site mechanical integration of the adhesive solution supports and optimizes the customers production process.
Responsibilities
This position considers the customer requirements, the technical design requirements of products, process and equipment to enable Customer Service, Purchasing, Manufacturing, Engineering and Sales.
Representatives to meet customer needs. This includes estimating the cost impacts of changes and implementing new productions into production.
Visit and make presentations to current and prospective customers and attend trades shows to stay up to date on market trends and technology.
Conduct VOC (Voice of Customer) activities and develop product and performance requirements for custom engineered opportunities.
Work as an intermediary in support of Manufacturing, Sales, Quality and Customers.
Provide technical support to customers and internal departments, including review of drawings, specifications and product requirements.
Assist with creation or modification of Device Master Records, Safety Data Sheets, Technical Data Sheets, etc.
Review Request for Quote (RFQ) requirements with RFQ team to determine job feasibility/profitability and propose alternative solutions to the Sales team, if applicable.
Oversee and manage the quoting process and prepares cost sheet for Quotes.
Research, recommend, source and specify raw materials. Assist with specification of production equipment, tooling and gauging as needed.
Utilize APQP and Six Sigma methodologies to lead projects for Design & Development (D&D) process for New Product Development (NPD) and Product Modifications (PM). These tools include but are not limited to Process Maps, FMEAs, Control Plans, Measurement System Analysis (MSA), SPC, etc.
Provide project status updates to internal and customer stakeholders.
Lead creation and preparation of engineering CAD drawings and/or specifications for product, tooling, gauging and equipment as necessary.
Assist with recommendation and development of various inspection methods including standard measurement equipment, custom gauges, and automated vision systems.
Assist with converting bid package into released production packages.
The Applications Engineer makes clear concise communications maintaining confidentiality as necessary when dealing with relevant parties.
Company MRP System activities.
Assist in hazardous Waste Activities.
Other Duties as deemed by the Company.
Qualifications
Ability to speak, read and write English. Spanish is helpful but not required.
Ability to recognize, add and subtract two digit numbers, multiply, divide. Ability to perform these operations using units of American money and weight measurements, volume, and distance.
Need to be able to lift a minimum of 50 lbs.
Frequently required to walk. Occasionally required to climb or balance; stoop, kneel, crouch or crawl.
Excellent communication skills, verbal and written (at C-suite/exec level or plant worker level). Advanced computer Skills: MS Office, Excel required. Proficiency with Computer Aided Design including both 2D, 3D, ability to code basic programs desired.
Understanding of GD&T practices and ability to draw, modify and interpret drawings and customer specifications.
Strong Problem Solving Skills utilizing Six Sigma and Lean methodologies.
Excellent Planning, Organizational, and Communication Skills.
Strong customer service and interface skills (internally and externally).
Results-driven and detail-oriented.
Good organization skills, including maintaining a neat and orderly work environment.
Innovative mindset with the ability to drive transformation.

Must hold a valid drivers license and passport.
Demonstrated support of company goals, values, and mission statement.
Bachelors degree in Engineering (Mechanical, Industrial) or similar required.
Lean Six Sigma Green Belt certification required or ability to complete in first 12 months of employment.
10+ years of manufacturing engineering experience desired.
3-5+ years of experience with medical devices in CMO (Contract Manufacturing Organizations) or OEM (Original Equipment Manufacturer) for Junior Position and 5-10 years of experiences for Sr. Position.
Basic knowledge of adhesives, tapes, web paths, rotary and/or flatbed die cutting, converting, and contract manufacturing desired.
Basic knowledge of ISO specifications and APQP Tools.
Travel:
The position is required to be-onsite from their Hebron, Kentucky headquarters. Travel expectation is up to 20% to their facilities in Orange, Virginia. Seniority level
