SUMMARY OF ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS: This position requires daily travel in and around the San Francisco area, including the airport. The Field Service Technician (FST) troubleshoots, services, installs, and repairs Trace, X-Ray, CT X-Ray, and Cargo Inspection equipment at customer sites. Responsibilities include maintaining field service logs, demonstrating initiative, conducting follow-up calls, and ensuring customer satisfaction. Meet daily service repair needs and foster positive customer relations. Install, repair, and maintain equipment; provide customer training as needed. Respond to emergency and scheduled service calls within response time goals. Complete scheduled maintenance, document work, and manage parts inventory. Maintain technical certifications and review logs for open issues. Participate in service sales opportunities and support revenue programs. Support knowledge growth by consulting senior FSTs and support teams. Ensure tools and test equipment are calibrated and maintained. Assess equipment performance and recommend improvements. Provide technical support and participate in site surveys, pilot programs, and meetings. Maintain clear communication and establish relationships with product managers and senior FSTs. Control costs and maximize revenue; complete administrative tasks timely. Travel, overtime, and varied work hours may be required. Adhere to safety, health, environmental, export control, and security policies. Qualifications

Education/Training:

Associate’s Degree or related trade certification in electrical, electronic, or mechanical fields. Military training or equivalent experience (>3 years) in electrical or mechanical service roles. Computer literacy and aptitude for software. Experience:

Minimum of 5 years in troubleshooting and field repair of electrical/electronic systems. Knowledge/Skills:

Excellent communication, customer focus, teamwork, and responsiveness. Willingness to travel on short notice. Additional Requirements

Strong organizational and interpersonal skills. Excellent customer service and stress management skills. Self-motivated, reliable, and accountable. Ability to lift/carry 80 lbs. and operate industrial equipment safely. Work Environment

Work primarily at customer locations such as airports, correctional facilities, and ships, around industrial equipment. Compliance with safety and security policies is mandatory. Additional Information
