Under the general supervision of the Economics Training Management (ETM) Section Chief in the Operations Management Division (OM), the incumbent performs a variety of technical, administrative, and operational support tasks related to training/capacity building activities. The incumbent is expected to perform duties related to training programs delivered online, at headquarters (HQ) in Washington, D.C., and at overseas regional training centers (RTCs), as well as a variety of courses and seminars under the Internal Economics Training (IET) program, using the automated Participant and Applicant Tracking System (PATS), Workday learning, audio and video conferencing software, Teams, Webex, SharePoint, Cvent, Moodle, and other relevant software applications. The incumbent will also help to identify agile and innovative approaches to optimize processes for internal and external stakeholders and handle sensitive materials discreetly, in line with the Fund’s access to information policy.

Main duties and responsibilities include:

working with PATS (a PeopleSoft database), registering electronic course applications, screening applicants for eligibility, matching participant records, reviewing data for accuracy and completeness, working with data in MS Excel and PATS generating a variety of data reports, processing participant data from online courses (OL) into the database, and tracking and reporting completion rates accordingly. Responsibilities also include liaising with staff at the RTCs to facilitate coordination and execution of assignments and ensuring the efficient flow of information and communication. Additional tasks involve working with Workday Learning, managing events, creating campaigns, and validating and processing data. Event coordination tasks include contacting guest speakers to obtain materials and coordinating event logistics, researching background information and locating existing papers on the Internet or libraries. The incumbent will also contribute to the design and implementation of new IT projects for training events, seminars, and conferences, as well as provide process improvements, efficiencies, and streamlining opportunities, and support decision-making through data analysis. Coordinating and implementing induction and administrative arrangements for HQ courses including travel, visa, accommodation, and per diem reimbursements. Managing training facilities and IT resources (i.e., laptops, software requirements, smartboards, polling devices, etc.). Handling participant issues during HQ courses (e.g., medical, absences, travel/visa). Assisting in the development and maintenance of program-related resources, such as manuals and guidelines. Coordinating communication between internal and external stakeholders, ensuring timely and accurate information flow. Liaising closely with colleagues in the Operations Management Division, Institute Training Program Division, ICD’s economic training divisions, other IMF departments, and external clients to ensure the successful delivery of ICD training programs. Strong project management and technological skills, experience in problem-solving, identifying and analyzing challenges, and implementing creative and innovative solutions to address them are preferred. Proficiency in information technology, including knowledge of SharePoint and Learning Management Systems, is a must. A solid understanding of knowledge management principles and practices, enabling the effective organization, storage, and dissemination of information within the departments, is a plus.

Minimum Qualifications

Educational development, typically acquired by the completion of a university degree in liberal arts, languages, business administration, information systems, economics, international relations, or a related field, is required. Alternatively, a minimum of two years of experience in a related position at Grade A5, or equivalent, is required.

Strong interpersonal and client-oriented skills with proven ability to interact tactfully and professionally with others. Other essential skills include a demonstrated ability to establish priorities, multitask effectively, and work well under pressure to meet deadlines. Good problem-solving skills, attention to details, ability to work both independently and as part of a team, and knowledge of data management fundamentals are also required.

French, Spanish, or Arabic language skills, is a plus.

Only candidates who are currently residing in the Washington DC metro area will be considered.

This vacancy shall be filled by a 3-year Term appointment in accordance with the Fund’s new employment rules that took effect on May 1, 2015.
