We seek a dedicated Senior Software Engineer to support the Space Systems Development Department (SSDD) at the Naval Center for Space Technology (NCST), part of the U.S. Naval Research Laboratory (NRL) in Washington, DC.
This role involves advanced R&D for scientific, technical, and engineering efforts related to C4ISR systems for Navy Space Programs. The position is full-time onsite at NRL in Washington, DC, with an expected hire date in late 2025. At SPA, we offer a competitive total compensation package including base pay, variable incentives, health insurance, retirement plans, and other benefits, which vary by eligibility and location. The salary range for Washington, DC is $140,000-$180,000, commensurate with experience and qualifications. Qualifications
Required BSc in Mathematics, Engineering, or Computer Science DoD TOP SECRET security clearance with SCI eligibility Minimum of 12 years relevant experience Desired Experience with software development methodologies, object-oriented programming, and supporting complex Multi-INT processing systems Ability to analyze system requirements, perform trade-off studies, and assess impacts on existing and future initiatives Experience in software verification, validation, and review of test plans and results
