BVA is seeking an engaged, entrepreneurial individual to work as a Project Manager with our top-tier Washington DC firm. While our primary area of focus is custom high-end single family residential work, our portfolio also includes specialty/boutique commercial and institutional projects.

The individual filling this role will help lead several projects simultaneously, and may oversee a large team for one project while doing drawings and other tasks on smaller projects at the same time. Time management and the ability to delegate will be crucial.

Areas of competency should include:

The ability to coordinate the efforts of internal staff and consultants through all phases of a project (design, documentation, construction).

Familiarity with construction detailing of typical building methods for residential construction (wood and steel framing, concrete, masonry, etc, as well as thermal and weather-tight residential envelope detailing).

Some technical knowledge of basic residential systems (mechanical, electrical, plumbing).

The ability to prepare and manage to project schedules and fee proposals.

Our Studio is on a hybrid work model, so applicant will be required to work in-office at least 4 days a week, with 1 remote day available at their discretion.

This position requires:

Technical proficiency with AutoCAD; Sketchup preferred but not required.

5+ years of architectural experience; custom single-family residential familiarity preferred.

Demonstrable Project Management experience, including guiding and coordinating internal junior staff and consultants; managing to schedule and budget; interaction with clients and contractors; and familiarity with the permitting process and requirements of our local DMV jurisdictions as well as historic/regulatory bodies within the District of Columbia.

Licensure (in any jurisdiction), or on the path to licensure.
