Job Title
CAD Design Engineer with Battery Pack
Location Columbus, IN
Responsibilities
Define battery pack architecture based on product functions, customer specifications, and manufacturing constraints.
Optimize technical and economic trade‑offs to deliver the best solutions.
Perform detailed studies (stack‑up, mechanical calculations) and integrate simulation results.
Ensure timely delivery of high‑quality design outputs (3D models, drawings).
Define functional requirements for components in collaboration with suppliers and internal stakeholders (MSDE, Purchasing, CDE, Laboratory).
Drive the development of design tools, guides, and best practices to enhance efficiency and quality.
Qualifications
Engineering degree or equivalent technical background.
Proficiency in CAD tools (CATIA, UG NX).
Strong knowledge of ISO standards (GD&T) and stack‑up analysis.
Fluent in English.
Battery pack design and manufacturing processes.
Plastic and metallic part design.
Thermal management, electronics, and electrical harnesses.
Familiarity with CAD quality tools (QChecker), PLM systems, and design FMEA.
Excellent communication and teamwork.
Strong organizational skills and attention to detail.
Ability to listen, adapt, and deliver under deadlines.
