Travel Pipefitter Position - $29.50/hr and $140 Per Diem
Located in Newport News, VA
Job Description
Assist in the building of nuclear powered submarines and aircraft carriers.
3 or more years as a marine, commercial nuclear, or petro/chem Pipefitter.
Ability to read and interpret ship piping drawings.
Experience with carbon steel, CRES, and copper nickel piping.
Knowledge in installing pipe hangers and reading a ruler using inches and tenths.
Capability to use grinders for cleaning and cutting pipes.
Experience in fabricating details and assemblies from drawings.
Responsibilities
Read and interpret ship piping drawings.
Fit carbon steel, CRES, and copper nickel piping.
End prep piping by hand or with a machine.
Install pipe hangers accurately.
Read a ruler using inches and tenths.
Prep and fit-up backing rings.
Clean cut/break pipe with a grinder.
Hand prep V bevels effectively.
Fabricate various details and assemblies from drawings.
Bend pipe from a template and use a hand bender.
Fit welded sockets and brazed joints with or without inserts.
Job Type & Location This is a Contract position based out of Houston, TX.
Pay and Benefits The pay range for this position is $29.50 - $29.50/hr.
