Pipefitter Position - $29.50+/hr and $140 Per Diem for travelers
Located in Newport News VA
We are seeking an experienced Shipyard Pipefitter with five or more years of experience in marine, commercial nuclear, or petro/chemical industries. The ideal candidate will be proficient in reading and interpreting ship piping drawings and fitting various types of piping, including carbon steel, CRES, and copper nickel.
Responsibilities
Read and interpret ship piping drawings.
Fit carbon steel, CRES, and copper nickel piping.
End prep pipingasking by hand or with a Portsmouth Machine.
Install pipe hangers.
Read a ruler using inches and tenths.
Prepare and fit-up backing rings.
Clean cut/break pipe with a grinder.
Hand prep V bevels.
Fabricate various details and assemblies from drawings.
Bend pipe from templates and use a hand bender.
Fit welded sockets.
Fit brazed joints with or without inserts.
Job Type & Location This is a Contract position based out of Greenville, SC.
Pay and Benefits The pay range for this position is $29.50 - $29.50/hr.
