From creating the home standby generator market category, to our current evolution into an energy technology solutions company, we continue to push new boundaries.The primary purpose of the Business Analyst – SAP Variant Configuration II is to set up configurable products, bill of materials, variant configuration pricing and the underlying master data for Generac products. This position is the primary liaison between the engineering function and other business group to gather input data, plan, programing, and coordinate release of the VC type of products into SAP and associated applications (CRM, Genconnect) It will also coordinate testing of new applications and support regression testing as well as perform advanced troubleshooting support to VC team and other business functions.**MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:*** Bachelor’s Degree or relevant experience* 2 years of relevant work experience**PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:*** Bachelor’s Degree in Engineering, Computer Science or Business* Experience with SAP Variant Configurator (VC)* Experience with make to order, make to stock, and sales order execution and control processes* Experience with data flow between PLM and ERP VC systems* Experience with Change Management process* Experience in manufacturing industry with knowledge of multi-level product structures**ESSENTIAL DUTIES:*** Understands the validity of engineering requests and makes initial determination of severity of impact on currently available systems interacting with SAP VC* Performs a product SAP VC target testing and validation* Participates in collecting, documenting, and communicating best practices affecting product configuration process utilizing SAP VC* Trains and mentors new business analysts in the VC group* Evaluates critical information gathered from multiple sources. Reconciles conflicting information and decomposes high-level information into a detailed functional design, distinguishing the initial user request and underlying true needs in relationship to the product configuration.* Sets up Options, Characteristics, BOMs and rules in SAP VC based on the input from engineering* Provides support to other groups during the release of new VC product to production* Works closely with NPI project teams throughout the project lifecycle to ensure requirements are being satisfied by the planned SAP Configured Designs**KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND ABILITIES:*** Basic understanding of SAP VC Programming and database normalization* Ability to understand complex products* Ability to manage project deadlines* Excellent communication and presentation skills* Ability to work within a collaborative team, including virtual members**Level of Independence:** This position acts under the direction of the Engineering Supervisor.**Physical Demands**: While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to talk and hear; and use hands to manipulate objects or controls. The employee is regularly required to stand and walk.
